Cold Kills game of the year so far.

Last weekend gone was one of the coldest in recent years and the TSDL suffered from this. Many games were called off due to frozen pitches but one game in particular was postponed to the dissapointement off all involved in the league. The much antisipated clash of TSDL giants Clonmel town and Clonnel celtic was due to be played on sunday at two in the dr Pat O’Callaghan Complex. Clonmel town who have won the league for 6 years in a row and are one of the biggest junior sides in the country have this season been over taken by their newer neighbhours Clonmel Celtic who currently lie above Town in the league. This fixture had the whole town divided as many thought Towns experience would get them the victory on the day and others thought celtics younger and excellent footballing side would be to much for town. sadly this game didn’t go ahead and we are waiting for a new game to go ahead.

TSDL make history.

For the first time in the history of the TSDL it has no less than five teams that have made it to the last sixty four of the FAI junior cup competition. 1994 winners and one of the favourites Clonmel Town will face a tough home tie against Redcastle fc, St Michaels have a possible trip to Galway as they will meet thw winners of Mervue united or Oranmore, Clonmel Celtic have a home tie against Dublins Lissadel united to look forward to, Peake Villa will be travelling to Kerry to face a tough game against Castleisland and finally Ballingarry Albion will face carbury FC fromthe Sligo Lietrim leauge.

Redmondstown fundraiser.

This coming weekend Redmondstown FC are doing a fund raiser around the Town of Clonmel and will be found out side the Credit union from nine to three Saturday. Any donation will be welcomed and it is going to a good cause so do help if you can .

Archive action from an FAI junior cup match between TSDL Titans Clonmel Town and the Old Bridge.

The recent downpour of rain has ment that many games in the TSDL were called off this week. One of the finest pitches in Munster that of Bansha Celtics was possibly the hardest hit of all with massive pitch flooding.

This sort of image was widespread all over the leagues and may cost Clubs alot of money that they do not have, however things are looking up as the rain eased off this week and most pitches have recovered pretty well including the one you see in the image above so most games will be going ahead this weekend fingers crossed.
